Chief Instructor - Sensei Ian Willis 6th Dan
Sensei Willis has been a professional Karate Instructor for nearly thirty years and has worked throughout Northumberland. He has competed successfully at Club, Regional, National and International levels. He brings a wealth of experience to his Karate clubs. Many of his students both past and present have been regional, national and international champions.
In addition to running the Main Dojo of NKA at Alnwick, Ashington, Morpeth and Ponteland, he runs a number of after-school clubs in Northumberland.
He welcomes students of all abilities and ambitions to his classes and tailors his sessions to make them challenging to all who attend.
His competition career spanned 18 years and he placed 2nd and 3rd at successive European Championships for the IKA.
He is known for his deceptive speed and lightness of foot and his control in Kumite and his excellent form and technique in Kata. He is today at his best when demonstrating application (Bunkai) and his knowledge of the various techniques reflects his many years of experience. His ability to teach is recognised by many Karateka locally and Nationally as he is sometimes invited to give classes at other clubs.
He is approachable by every student whatever their ability and will always take the time to ensure that techniques are studied and learned properly.
