Club Alumni

Sensei Jill Kelly – 6th Dan began training at the NKA in 1995. She competed successfully in both national and international competitions. The 1991 Grand Champion at the Northern Region Championships in both individual Kata and Kumite and the first female to be awarded the best overall competitor. 

Sensei Keith Burns – 5ht Dan has been training over 30 years and competed up to 1999 winning many Kata and Kumite competitions. He was a regular member of the North Region squad under Sensei Rhodes competing nationally and in Europe. He is known for his excellent demonstrations.

Sensei Jon James Bruce – 5th Dan began in 1990 and succeeded in local, regional and national championships. As part of the England team he won the European team Kumite championships in2007 - 2009 as well as the world title in 2007 and 2009, also an individual Bronze in Kumite in the European Championships in 2009

Sensei David Wright has competed in many national and international competitions (world and European). Renowned for both Kata and Kumite skills, he placed 1st in the European Team Kata and 2nd in the team Kata at the Worlds in 2009. He has won many regional and national titles since 2005. 

Sensei Ben Fail started Karate in 1997. He was selected for the England squad in 2004 and 2005. He obtained his 4th Dan in 2013. Ben has moved to Glasgow and established the Glasgow Karate Academy.
